untitled.

I haven't posted since August! I've been meaning to for ages but have never got round to it. Life's been crazy this last half of the year, and i've really just not had anything to write about.
I still don't. But I figure it will come as I'm writing. Ah, yes, how I do miss blogging.

Since the last post; i have had conference, my birthday, been to Australia, got my first job, got asked to lead a people care team, am being trained how to produce, am a boost leader, leading my own boost lifegroup, passed ncea level 1 with merit, and i'm sure many more that i can't think of. it's actually crazy. next step, get my license.

I am officially on holiday now too. Well, unofficially officially, because I still have one more exam on Monday. But that's physics...i don't even take physics. So like any other smart girl in my position, I'm going for the 45 minutes and then gapping. Freeeeedom!

Already I can tell this summer is going to be the best one yet. Why, you may ask?
Great question! Because I have already been strawberry picking, that's why!
It was on my summer to do list last year, and sadly, I never ended up getting around to it.
My gran always used to take my sister and I strawberry picking when we were younger (and raspberries too!) and then she'd chop them up in a bowl for us, sprinkle some icing sugar over those bad boys, and bring them out for us to eat by the pool. yum.
So I made my sister drive me up to Penray again last week so we could re-live our childhood memories. it was cute.

I feel like that could be a nice thing to do for the summer, a fun goal...to re-live those great childhood memoirs. yes!

Also, it is going to be the longest summer I've had ever. Which means we can jam more fun things to do in that amount of time. Eeep going to Parachute for the first time this year, I am super excited. Sanga Samways at summer camp, huuulllloooo five whole days of goodness. Pumped would be an understatement.

This summer I've got lots of decisions to make about next year, too. That part will be interesting :)

Hebrews 10:5
That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God: 'You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer'.

God was no longer pleased with the old covenant and the law of Moses, so he sent Jesus as a living sacrifice to cancel it. He gave Jesus a body to use for His will, and we are called to be Christ-like and do the same. Not to die on a cross for the sins of all humanity, that price has already been paid- but to take up our cross daily and to offer our body and our lives up for his call/cause.
Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to devote that body, and our lives to God, regardless of our circumstance.
'Preach the word of God. Be prepared whether the time is favourable or not' (2 Timothy 4:2).
A.K.A be prepared in and out of season, don't just live for Him when it's convenient.
Live a life pleasing to him, always.

Remembering that, sometimes, we will be the only bible that people ever read, and how people see us, is how they see Jesus.

I feel like I've come a long way,
yet I know I still have a long way to go.

and it excites me

New Chapter.

The thing about new beginnings, is that they require something else to end...
However, though we may not want that something to end,
it's crucial to focus on what's being birthed,
it will be important.
Make it count.

Keep me afloat, 'cause I know I'll sink without you

When you're thrown into the deep end,
You either drown...
Or you learn to swim.

I wasn't thrown in so they could watch me drown.
I was thrown in, because they knew I had it in me to swim.

A little bit of tough love.

learning to love every season.

Ecclesiastes 3 says:
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time
to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather
them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a tim
e to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace."

verse 11 goes on to say:
"He has made everything beautiful in it's time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live."

then verse 14 says:
"I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothin
g can be added to it and nothing taken from it."

God only ever breaks us when he intends to rebuild us into something better.
Learning to function in, and love the in-between stage is probably the hardest part.
The brokenness and the piecing-everything-back-together, where though even though you have no idea what God's purpose with it all is, you still praise Him anyway.
That's something so key that I've learnt lately, is praising in whatever situation you're in.
Although to realise this, I had to stop kidding myself, and I had to stop kidding God.

Praising Him in all circumstances doesn't mean telling Him you're happy even when you're not. It means being honest with Him, and saying 'Look God, I'm actually mad at you right now, I don't understand this but I know that you are a good God and you have purpose in this. So regardless of what I think, I will praise you anyway, because ultimately I know you have the best plan in mind. Would you have your way and would you lead me to love what you love'.
And you keep praying it until you actually mean it.
God doesn't care when we're straight up with Him, he'd prefer us to be honest than to straight up lie to His face when he already knows our feelings anyway.

go.

seriously just had the best five days of my life. like not even lying to you. and not even being a classic always saying that after a camp, but actually, seriously feeling so so great.

camp was incredible, powerful and life changing. God did so much in my life, holy spirit messed me up a bit. it was flippin awesome.

going into camp, for what seemed like quite a while before hand i was going through quite a dry season where i fell away from God a bit. like not playup falling away or anything bad like that, i guess i just wasn't reading my bible and praying/communicating with God as much as i should have been. i wasn't feeding my spirit and as a result i was feeding my flesh with apathy and complacency. i knew i wasn't as close to God as i should be, and i found myself unable to get out of this spiral because my flesh had overtaken my spirit. i was letting the world get on top of me, instead of me getting on top of the world. but going into camp i had a few expectations because i knew it needed to stop. and for me, each session was seriously the platform for the next. without fail God would speak to me and change my life every session.

from worship on the very first session when we sung hope is erupting, something broke. God pretty much hit me with the "you're better than this, you're bigger than this, you're called for so much more. time to step up your game" card.

and in benny's session about fathers he did an altar call at the end, and i was kind of like i've already dealt with the issues with my dad, but i hadn't really learnt to embrace or trust in God as the father. someone prayed for me from behind, and i didn't even notice they had taken their hands off me. because as gay as this may sound, though she had taken her hands off me, i legit felt like they were still firmly and securely placed on my shoulders. and God just said to me, "you have to trust me fully, i've got you. you are safe and secure in my hands, i won't let you go".

one of my favourite sessions though would have to be the wednesday night one, where benny did the anointing. he was talking about a king living inside of us and it was actually just incredible. he was saying that though we may feel God has called us to something greater, we need to operate as kings in every situation, especially in the place that God has put us now. and that was pretty much exactly what i had needed to hear, ha ha, shot Jesus. but then ps ben busts out that he wants to anoint everyone with oil. so i got anointed with the oil, and then nat came and prayed double anointing over my life, and as soon as she started praying God's presence came upon me. it wasn't one of those like crying, slain in the spirit types of encounter though. it was like a strength, power and vision filled encounter. it was seriously great.

on thursday morning ps john preached about pitching a tent outside of camp. which pretty much meant making sure you were encountering God and having legit quiet times outside of church. making sure we put Him first, that he's getting the best of us. that we're hanging around the right people and living a pure life, etc. it was a teaching message, it was convicting and a smack around the face. but it was awesome, definitely a wake up call and what i needed to be reminded of.

but definitely my all time fave would have to be the last session, thursday night baby baby. ps benny was talking about dangerous dreams God had put in our hearts, how powerful it was, what will hold us back from it, and how we need to guard it because the devil will do all he can to stop it from coming to pass. i had been holding out for this session because i knew this was the one that ticked off the biggest expectation i had. when altar call came around though i convinced myself that it didn't apply to me and that i'd already let go of all that would hold me back. but as i stood there i felt an urging and remembered what ps levi said about not just watching a move of God, but being a part of the encounter. i was worshipping, and someone came and lay hands on me. again, not sure who it was or what they were praying over me, but God sure got me good. holy spirit came upon me and i went down and probably had the most incredible but simple revelation of the whole camp. God just said "you feel that weight pinning you down... that fear? that's the exact same thing that nailed me to the cross. the thing i died for so that you wouldn't have to experience it. so take as much time as you need, but when you're ready i want you to get up and walk in my freedom. when you get up, it will no longer be upon your life".

and throughout the whole camp, he gave me confirmation of the dream he placed in me, and made me more passionate to go after it with everything i've got.
once again i am pumped for life.

Jesus i thank you for all that you did over this past week. i thank you for your presence, that you showed up and did a mighty move of power in hundreds of hearts. i thank you that lives are changed, and that we will never be the same. That we are starting a whirlpool, a movement of change in this nation. and i declare authority over the devil, that the gates of hell will not prevail and that he will not rob us of the dreams and encounters had. i pray that these would be defining moments that we'd remember for the rest of our lives, that you'd cement it and set it in our hearts and set it like concrete, that we would not forget or lose sight of them. Amen.

first post of the new year.

i was kind of guttered to end last year not being able to say that it's been my best year so far, like i had been able to in 2010.

our church vision last year was 'sow'. and that's exactly what we did. i think that's why, at times, it sucked and seemed so hard. because we were constantly putting so much effort in trying to sow as best as we could, yet seeing no fruit and reaping no harvest.
at times it gets you down when you feel like your in a dry season and your efforts are going nowhere, but with every season there is always lessons to be learnt. and for me, more than anything, i probably learnt not to dwell in it and become apathetic because not only does it not help you see fruit, but it also hinders you from sowing good seeds.

this year has also been a big year of firsts for me. which is both exciting and scary at the same time.
my first time counselling a new christian, my first time praying in a prayer meeting, my first time actually feeling the holy spirit, my first time preaching, my first missions trip, and i'm sure there are many more. but getting to this point was exciting, because it required me to step out in faith and put a few things behind me. and it scared me, but i think i would gladly do it again.

though at times i felt this year was super lame, i'm glad it was like it was and i am really holding faith for 2012.

camp is just around the corner, then potentially parachute. supposed to be starting up kapiti elevate in feb, in Jesus name. my first year of ncea. passionate, conference, and lots of other little fun things along the way!!

this year will be great. i won't let it not be.
